Had some difficulty here a few years back but I may have been part of the problem. I know you might find that hard to believe but everyone has a bad day once in a while.
Nope, I am not the problem. I dropped off plans, paid fees, and expected there to have been a review prior to Christmas last year as the plans and such were dropped off at the Building Department on 12/15/22.
There has been no response since dropping the plans off. Every city in the State of California sends sign permit applications through their Planning Department before the application goes to Building. This is the reason I was given for why I couldn’t get my permit over the counter. So, I call in to their Planning Department around 3:30 PM today, the phone is answered by some gal sounding rude in her tone alone. She definitely did not want to help me in anyway. I toild her I dropped of my Building Application on 12/15 and she says then you gotta call building Department. I said I was starting with Planning as it was a Sign Permit Application which requires Planning Approval first, she rudely told me I was wrong and transferred the call to Building, who of course does not answer. Instead, I am greeted by the taped recording from prior to the recent holidays which tells you City Hall is closed until January 3, 2023.
I hope I am, the only one having found this Building Department in a negative light, but I somehow believe it not that way.
