  • Been a while since I visited this Building Department. They have moved to a new building, a big office, on the 2nd floor, a really cool looking building. I am impressed but not so much with the building as I am with the staff. These folks gave me the blues for a few days with changes to submissions and required signatures, but they were right on every concern. OI went in with drawings that were screwed up and could not even explain what needed explanation. My fault! When I returned with the applicable corrections they processed my permit promptly ,but then snagged me for signatures on my Title-24 submission requiring the Contractor signature. I did as they asked but disagree with the need for Contractor signature. I stand for the inspections for this company, making me the responsible person for compliance, and my signature should have been the required signature. We will seek clarification at the final inspection and this issue did not delay my receipt oƒ the permit at all.

I cannot speak highly enough of the staff at this Building Department. From reception to Engineering, everybody did their job and did it well. Thank You Sunnyvale!
